## The one-line difference from Wordle

Wordle tells you what to guess. BLUFF makes you decide whether to guess at all. In Wordle a hard
word is bad luck; in BLUFF a person chose that word and that clue specifically to beat you, and
folding is a legitimate move that scores if the hand proves you right.

## Facts

- Free to play. No account, no login, no email, no ads, no advertising identifier, no tracking. Play state lives on the
  player's own device.
- There is no money in the game: no cash prizes, no purchases, no in-app purchases, nothing to buy
  at any point, and no adverts of any kind. Suitable for all ages, and there is no age gate.
- Hands are four, five or six letters, mixed within a single match. Four-letter words are cracked
  about a third of the time and six-letter words about two thirds — a shorter word hides less but
  gives a guess less to grip, so the length of a hand is itself a read before the clue arrives.
- The deck is 3,576 answer words (953 of four letters, 1,394 of five, 1,229 of six), each shown
  with a pronunciation and a plain-English meaning when the hand ends.
- 20,425 words are accepted as guesses. A guess must be a real word from that list; nonsense probes
  that would test fresh letters are refused.
- Six seats per table, six hands per match, four guesses per called hand, of which only the first
  three beat the setter.
- A clue is one of three kinds: a letter pinned to a position, a letter confirmed present without a
  position, or two letters ruled out. No clue may leave more than a third of the words of that
  length standing.
- Every tile state carries a shape as well as a colour — a filled dot for a pinned letter, a hollow
  diamond for a floating one, a slash for a dead one — so the clue never depends on colour vision.
- The daily deals every player in the world the identical six deals, the same words, clues and
  difficulty, until midnight UTC. The board ranks decisions rather than luck.
- The daily board is server-verified: the game sends the six decisions a player made and the server
  re-scores them with the same engine, so a score cannot be submitted, only the play that produced
  it.
- The top three on the daily each day take 3,000, 1,500 and 750 stars. Stars are an in-game score
  that buys cosmetic looks only: they cannot be bought with money, cannot be cashed out, and do not
  enter the ranking. Power-ups are earned in play and are never sold.
- Not gambling: there is nothing to buy and no mechanism by which a player can stake money on an
  outcome.
- Made by 5arz Services LLC (Lewes, Delaware, United States), in partnership with Lumi Enterprises
  Corp., which co-develops the game and publishes the iOS app on the App Store.
- Installs as a progressive web app and plays offline. iOS and Android apps in preparation.
- Every sound and all four music tracks are synthesised at runtime — no audio files ship with it.
